In addition to the fact that 3 lbs of chicken can be made into 6 cups of shredded chicken, you will also have leftovers. You can use the chicken in other recipes or freeze it in a freezer-safe bag to be used later on.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Use non-stick cooking spray to spray a 13×9-inch baking dish.
  3. Slice the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add to the baking dish.

  5. In a large bowl, combine the stuffing mix with the hot water until evenly moistened. Place aside.

  • Stove Top Chicken Stuffing Mix

How to make Chicken Stuffing Bake

  • First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees.You will need to use a 9X13 baking pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Then, cut the chicken breasts into bite size pieces.It does not have to be exact but I like to cut them into 1 inch pieces.
  • Next, spread the chicken piecesevenly on the bottom of the 9X13 pan.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepperon top of the chicken.
  • Get out a mixing bowland whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup and the milk. Spread this mixture all over the chicken.

  • Add the the stuffing mixevenly on top. You shouldn’t see any of the chicken mixture so try to sprinkle it all over. You can use a spatula to smooth it out if needed.

  • Pour the chicken brothover the stuffing mix. Try to cover as much of it as possible so the stuffing does not get too dry.

  • Use foil to cover the baking dishand bake.I like to remove the foil and bake uncovered for a few more minutes at the end. This will allow the top to brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let sit before serving.I suggest at least 10 minutes.

Can you freeze chicken and stuffing bake?

This casserole is very easy to freeze. I like to make two of these because it really is not any extra work.

You can have one for dinner now and one for the freezer. This is an easy way to have a quick meal for another night.

Just make the casserole as normal but do not bake. I also like to use a disposable pan for the one I am freezing. Cover tightly with foil and freeze up to 2 months. I also like to put the casserole dish inside a freezer bag.

When you are ready to bake, allow it to thaw in the fridge overnight. Bake as normal.

Note: Sometimes I freeze this in two 8″ pans. It is perfect for those nights when the entire family is not eating together.

  • Add frozen veggies.This is an easy way to make this a one dish meal. I like to use the bags of mixed veggies that include green peas, green beans, corn and carrots. However, you can use what you prefer.
  • Add diced broccoli.Even the kids eat more veggies when it is mixed into a delicious chicken casserole.
  • Add green beans.I would use frozen green beans so they do not get mushy.
  • Green peas.Add a bag of frozen green peas to the casserole. Don’t use canned peas. Frozen is best in this casserole.

When you start making dinner, begin by making the stuffing according to the directions on the package.

Also, preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Then, place the boneless chicken breasts in the bottom of a 9×13 inch greased pan.

Now in a small mixing bowl mix together the cream of chicken soup, dried parsley, and the milk.

Once it is all well combined, pour the cream of soup mixture over top of the chicken breasts, trying to spread it out evenly.

After the soup layer, spread the stuffing out over top of the chicken.

Now cover the 9×13 inch pan with aluminum foil and place the pan in the oven and bake it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, take the pan out of the oven and remove the foil from the pan.
